Description

One of my earliest photographs taken with a modified Canon 450D using unguided imaging on a Losmandy GM8 mount. This required very careful offset balancing, excellent PA, good PEC and a high DEC target to achieve good results. I obtained 73 very good frames over two nights.

The field contains the open cluster Messier 52 (NGC 7654), the Bubble nebula (NGC 7635), and small but bright knot of a hydrogen emission nebula (NGC 7538) and a small open cluster in the bottom right (NGC 7510)

Version B: re-cropped to remove a mosaicking issue. Reset the black point by sampling three very dark dust clouds to pick better values

Version C: fixed a vignette issue exposed by the colour rebalance in B
