Description

NGC 5566 is a barred spiral galaxy in Virgo, discovered by W. Herschel 1786

Distance: 70-80 Mio Lightyears, Magn. 11, spread over 150.000 Lightyears.

Companion galaxies: NGC 5560 (Magn. 13) , NGC 5569 (Magn. 14)

Remark:

the blueish-brown background patches are remnants of sky- glow of the first session hour (23:30-1:30) and I had to finish the session after 2 hours because the elevation was getting as low as ground fog was raising (30°). Typicall summer situation here....squeeezed
