Description

NGC 6688 is very odd, it's a galaxy apparently, though quite unlike any other galaxy I've ever seen. It's a mag. 14 non-barred lenticular galaxy with a s.b of 14.5 mags. per square arcmin. Size is about 1.6' x 1.6' and that's all I know about it. If you can find out any more please let me know.

Taken on a reasonable night in June, actually the shortest night, so it was never really dark.

There are also a few quite interesting small galaxies in the field, which I've identified in the anotated image B.

Thanks.
