Description

North is up in this image. This field is dominated by the galaxy M98 also known as NGC 4192. Just below and to the left of M98 is a cluster of small distant galaxy. This galaxy cluster s known as Abell 1499. It is fairly distant from Earth at a little more than 2 billion light years (as estimated by red shift). Other notable galaxies in the field are the spirals NGC 4186 (foreground in the Abell 1499 galaxy cluster) and NGC 4192A (to the lower right of M98). M98 is estimated at 44 million light years distant from Earth. The Horizontal FOV is 38'
