First test tryout in using my ALccdIMG0H camera, which I normally use for planetary photography, for imaging a deepsky object. Seeing was pretty poor, the gusts of wind made my setup vibrate, my wedge sitll is not well aligned and of the 100 30-second images I took, I only ought 11 to be of any use. Worse: I needed to stack the selected images manually as Deep Sky Stacker refused to even start stacking them after registration.
The stacking and postprocessing was done in Corel Paintshop Pro X7, which I just bought after giving up on PhotoShop and its high license fees. PSP X7 surprised me with a -for me- more intuitive inerface and a pretty complete 16-bit editing capability. With a current 15% reduction, it only cost me 56€!
