Description

NGC 3718 is one of the most photogenic galaxies in our "close" neighbourhood at around 48 mil l.y. in Ursa Major. It is a low surface brightness galaxy (which I firmly confirm after 22h from my Bortle 8 sky), surface brightness at 14,48 mag/am2 visual magnitude at 11. Its companion NGC 3729 is much farther away, at 65 mil l.y.

The processing was really tough, it took me a few days. Probably imaging such faint objects from my light polluted backyard in LRGB is too ambitious. It is a project I processed completely in Pixinsight.
