Description

It is getting harder and harder to image now, the nights are so light. I lost astronomical darkness several weeks ago, and being someone who struggles with serious fatigue anyway, starting this up at 11.00 every night, requires some doing. Needless to say, this was a bit of an effort, my first version being thrown out. And so I used Starnet++ for the first time - I am happier with this result - although there are some oddities in the image round certain stars, because of the way Starnet works, or more likely how I use Starnet! So, this was 48 subs, 5 minutes long each, with only about 20 being reasonable - thus 4 hours integration time. I used my SCT duo-band filter - so this is effectively a HOO image. Indeed, from my garden there are so many trees in the neighbouring gardens, that I am literally scraping the top of them, imaging anything lower than -13 declination is impossible. This is such a frustration because lovely targets like the Lagoon and Trifid are out of my reach! There is one tree, and I do have a chainsaw... If only! Thanks everybody...
