Description

I tried to image this subject in Cherry Springs but had difficulty with the plate solve slewing command in APT so I moved to the next subject. When I got back to CT the issue persisted.

Basically if the subject is West of the Meridian, the plate solve slew works fine. When the subject is East of the Meridian though, the program slews to the subject, plate solves once to within about 600px then says it can't move the mount so I have to manually center. I tried using a slightly different slew point to no avail. Hmmmm.

I decided to go deeper on this subject than I have on any subject before by a considerable margin. The 35 hours of data I captured was whittled down to the 27 you see here via subframe selector. My observatory PC however was only able to stack 1/4 of the frames at a time without running out of memory (555 x 300 meg images are a lot to remember) and I combined the 4 resulting images easily with pixelmath. I can't imagine this does a good a job as 1 stack but needs must.
