Description

The Chamaeleon Cloud Complex is a large star forming region at the surface of the Local Bubble that includes the Chamaeleon I, Chamaeleon II, and Chamaeleon III dark clouds.

Located around 650 light-years from Earth, Chamaeleon is a southern celestial hemispheric constellation and the 79th largest constellation in the night sky.

Captured from the backyard in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia over the course of several months, this image comprises over 10hrs of total integration using a combination of L, R, G and B filters.
