Description

The Gamma Cygni nebula IC1318
Time to wake the gear up from summer sleep, even though the night skies are still a little to bright for deep sky imaging.
The bright star is Sadr,  γ (gamma) Cygni, the central star in the Northern Cross, an astrism that is a part of the constellation, Cygnus.
The nebula lies in a distance of 4900 lightyears from us and the star Sadr in a distance of 1800 ly from us.
The Swan was a disguise the mythological god, Zevs, used to visit princess Leda of Sparta and make some babies.
I set the 61mm up on my terrace to collect some old and far traveled light, a couple of hours around midnight, and since my terrace have a roof, I got the possibility to test the Asiair All sky polar alignment.
So far I`m not convinced, as I ran into some guiding problems in the dec axis and had to throw away a lot of due to elongated stars.
The tracking in RA was fine, 1" or less, but dec axis did some weird travels in both directions.
