Description

A view of the Rosette Nebula, in SHO using the Hubble palette.

The Rosette is a HII region that is ionized by the young and intense open cluster at it's center, NGC2244. The nebula is around 5000 l-y from earth, and about 130 l-y in width. It's total mass is around 10000 solar mass.
