Description

LDN 1150, LDN 1155 (part of LBN 468) in Cepheus

This was a try to photograph this small part of the much larger structure, LBN 468.

Often imaged with wide filed telescopes, this Seahorse shaped dark nebula is very rarely photographed at this focal length of 1150mm. The long focal length allowed a much deeper look, revealing a very busy region of dusty interstellar matter with some star formation.

The object includes Herbig-Haro jets, though I couldn't locate their locations.

Very faint! I was hoping that the 17-hours Luminance would reveal a more detailed structures but it became apparent that stretching to pursue detail made the overall dynamics suffer, no matter how sophisticated the masks that I generated.

I believe another 20 hours would probably get it to rock in its full glory.
