Thank you for watching my version of the antennae !

I find this galactic collision to be one of the most spectacular scene of the deep sky. This is a quite challenging target for my small refractor and my average sky quality.

I tried to increase the integration time to get some good data, unfortunately I had below average seeing condition in April during 3 nights of imaging. I added some data from 2 other nights from 2019 . I did not manage to get crispy details but many interesting things are already visible.

One of my most pleasant time with this image was post-processing : everything went smoothly and the colors I was looking for, popped up naturally, I was really happy to get those yellows, red pearls, one blue side. I did not have the colors in the tails but I was already happy to get the tails so clearly.

Image is a crop of the Drizzle x2 version reduced at 66%.

Version B is the full at native sensor resolution. NGC4027 and NGC4024 are also in the frame.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
