Description

A wide field view of the busy region around the Bubble Nebula in Cassiopeia, with several deep sky objects jostling each other for attention.

The Bubble Nebula (NGC 7635) is at top center, surrounded by Sh2-162, a billowy cloud of glowing hydrogen gas. Open star cluster M52 sparkles to the upper left of the Bubble and Sh2-157, the big "Lobster Claw" Nebula, is at bottom right. These objects are formed of clouds of hydrogen atoms releasing energy as red light.
