The sky, the landscape and the starlight leaves the spectator in amazement and peace. That's my description for this shot, in my personal point of view. That's the feeling the night sky leaves on me, whether I'm simply looking or imaging the stars.

As for astronomical objects, you can see, from top to bottom, the Coalsack Dark Nebula; the Southern Cross (Crux), the constellation that ("kind of") points to the South Celestial Pole, several clusters; Lambda Cen. Nebula; The Southern Pleiades and finally Eta Carinae Nebula, almost touching the trees, that were 50m away. To the left you can see the Dark Doodad in Musca.

To the left hand side on the image you can see a bit of light pollution from Itajubá, a moderately large city (poppulation ~100k) that is located 40km from the place I took this shot.

This image was not composited via different pictures for the foreground and backgroud, it's the same way the scene was. My processing was: Open and Import into LR. In LR I did WB Adjustments and Lens Profile Corrections. The images were merged as a Panorama in LR's new Panorama feature. Once merged, the final image received minor levels, curves and selective colors adj. in PS.

Comments, suggestions, and constructive criticism are always welcome! Thank's for taking your time to look at this image.

Taken from Rural Skies (Bortle 3-4), from Cristina, MG, Brazil. Thanks for seeing.
