Description

Long ago analyzing the region near Aristarchus Plateau came across what appeared to be a new ghost crater (dotted circle), were about two years to confirm its existence.

Those who are interested in the full text can access it here:

A few days ago watching the same region, other smaller and proportionately deeper depression caught my eye (lower circle).

Although observe this region often never realized its perfectly circular shape like never before had also seen this place with the Sun in such a low angle, you see that the shadow is almost touching Wolaston D which is on the edge of the crater ghost previously discovered by me .

Talking to my friend Rafael Compassi treat to consult the Quick Map and altimetry we draw a profile that has demonstrated this depression about 10-12 kilometers in diameter and a depth of about 150m.

The experience previously obtained I can say that this would be a serious candidate to a new ghost crater, as fits within the required apart from the fact that, once talking to Dr. Anthony Cook researcher at BAA (http: //www.baalunarsection. org.uk/) he was categorical in stating that this region near Aristarchus Plateau probably suffered a major lava flow in ages past so burying a large number of ancient craters that today can be seen only dimly as a slight depression in the lunar relief.

Attached photo with elevation profile drawn from the Quick Map.

Note: The arrow indicates numerous craters crowded that not dare say appear to have been formed from fragments of the same fireball that fell apart before crashing into the Moon.
