      Description

This is a two-frame mosaic. Each frame contains 12 3-minute exposures. The lens is at 15mm/F4.

Rev.C is a reprocessing in March 2024.  I need to decorate a wall.  Based on the available size of the space, I picked this one.  So I re-processed the image from stacked individual panels.  Hope the new processing does justice to the data.

Note: There is an orange line going from Ophiuchus to the Galactic center. In 2015 when I processed this image, the line was removed during the stacking process. I thought it is a satellite trail, so removing it with rejection is not a big deal.  When I reprocessed this image in 2024, I realized it must be an Adaptive Optics laser beam shoot by one of the four 10-m class telescopes on Maunakea.  So I tried to preserve it in the new processing. In some sense, this is the laser beam that leads to the Nobel Prize in physics in 2020 for the observations of supermassive black holes in the Galactic center.
