Description

I spent the evening of the 11th, 12th, and 13th set up to do time lapse of the Perseids. I had a lot of problems including the fog coming in around 11PM on the 11th and 12th. Also my new Rokinon 14mm camera lens kept dewing up extremely fast. For my area the peak was predicted for !:00 AM on the 13th which was fogged in at that point. On the evening of the 13th I set up again and failed to get anything good because of operator error until Midnight on the 14th (23 hours after the predicted peak). I let the camera run all night and went to bed around 2AM. This frame shows the largest meteor and was taken at 4:54 AM, 28 hours after the peak. You can see light from the Sun approaching on the right hand side.

I took 32 second exposures at ISO 1600 hoping to get a little longer exposures, less noise and more detail. Seeing as my main goal was time lapse, a little star trailing would be OK, which I got at this exposure.

Thanks for looking!
