Description

Second try at a DSO, tried M31 before, it was a disaster.

I'm not very good at editing either, but I did my best. I'm sure others out there could do wonderful things with the data compared to me. I know my picture is super saturated, but I just wanted to do my best at bringing out the red of the nebula.

My plan was to go to my local astronomy club's private observatory, but it was my first night out there, and by the time I showed up it was, in the middle of no where, and there were spider webs everywhere along the path. I jetted out there and went back to my Bortle 5 place where I used to shoot from. Lesson learned though, I'll be out there way before sunset next time.

Either way, hope you like it. I have a 2 Milky Way shots taken from this night as well that I will try to edit and upload, one is a widefield, the other is taken with a 50mm as well to capture The Lagoon and Trifid nebula. I'll have to deal with some serious light pollution gradient on those pictures since my largest light pollution dome is SSW. I probably won't be able to get rid of it all, but I'm excited to try none the less.

Enjoy this picture for now! If anyone would like to take a stab at editing it for me, let me know and I will upload the stacked RAW file to dropbox for you.
