Description

Often overlooked in the constellation Cygnus is the faint emission nebula IC 5068. Two of its closest celestial neighbors, the North American and Pelican nebulae, get top billing but this beautiful object shines proudly in its own right. Curtain like wisps of dark dust fall across this cloud of ionized hydrogen making it a very intriguing target to image.

This is an HaLRGB image. The hydrogen alpha data was blended with luminance and layered on the color data.

Exposure: Ha:L:R:G:B = 160:60:48:48:48 (minutes) RGB bin 2x2.
