Description

North is up in this image. Central in this image are the Nebulae LBN 437 (bright nebula) and LBN 428 (emission nebula). LBN 428 is also cataloged as Sharpless 126. These two nebulae overlap each other. The smoky, dusty colored nebula is LBN 437 and the red emission nebula is LBN 428 / Sharpless 126. In addition to these nebulae, there are several noticeable background galaxies at distances estimated by redshift at up to 783 million light years distant from Earth. LBN 437 also has the variable star V0375 Lac and an associated reflection nebula GN 22.32.5. V0375 Lac is a Herbig Ae/Be star - there is a distance reference in Simbad of about 2,870 light years; other distance estimates are shorter - down to 1,960 light years . Sharpless 126 is estimated at about 1,700 light years distant from Earth. These objects, background stars, and a few bright stars and identified in the annotated image. Horizontal FOV is 116'
