Description

Zeta Scorpii, at the top of the tail in Scorpius.

There are actually 2 Zetas. Zeta1, the yellow star and Zeta2, the other one!

They are only 7arc-minute visually apart and not a binary system.

Next to them is a tight open cluster NGC6231 and further over is the emission nebulae IC4628.

The area is so busy that it make is difficult to produce a background with good contrast in a wide-field shot.
