Description

North is up in this image. This field has two relatively well known objects - the "Bubble Nebula" NGC 7635 and the open cluster M52 (also known as NGC 7654. There are four Sharpless objects in this image - Sharpless 158, 159, 161, 162. There is the interesting planetary nebula, PN G112.5-00.1 in the lower left in this field; a small open cluster, C2323+610; a reflection nebula, GN 23.15.3 near the central lower edge as well as several dark nebulae from the Lynds Dark Nebula catalog. These objects as well as some of the brighter stars are identified in the annotated image. NGC 7635 is approximately 11,000 light years distant from Earth; M52 is approximately 5,000 light years distant. Horizontal FOV is 116'
