The Cocoon Nebula, catalogued as IC 5146, Sharpless 2-125, and Caldwell 19, is a beautiful emission and reflection nebula in the constellation Cygnus. It lies at a distance of approximately 3,300 light years from Earth. In addition to the beautiful emission nebula itself, this field of view also captures Barnard 168, a dark nebula seen forming a beautiful trail to the right of the Cocoon.

RGB data was captured from Big Stump in Kings Canyon National Park; Hydrogen-Alpha data was captured from my backyard in Clovis, California.
