Description

The Lemon Slice Nebula (IC 3568) is a young planetary nebula in the constellation Camelopardalis the giraffe. It is probably one the simplest planetary nebulae with an almost perfectly spherical shape. It got its name from its similarity to a lemon/lime/orange/tangerine/grapefruit/whatever citrus fruit sliced.

Processing details:

Red: hst_08390_15_wfpc2_f658n_pc

Green: pseudo

Blue: hst_08390_15_wfpc2_f502n_pc

I chose a synthetic green over f555w as the original f555w was extremely grainy. I could have transplanted data in from another set but I want to use the same set just to be safe.

Data from July 30, 2000 from Hubble Legacy Archive.
