Description

My FIRST DSO image taken with a telescope. I HAVE A LOT TO LEARN!!!

WITHOUT GUIDING, without coma corrector, with an entry-level, cheap chinese newtonian, single speed crayford focuser, and on a first quarter moon, the conditions were far from perfect, but I just wnted to see what could I do through my telescope on Eta Car. Strong vignetting is also present, and I did NOT shoot darks or flats (you shouldn't do that!), only bias.

This image was taken with a 150mm f/6.7, 1000mm focal lenght newtonian by Sky-Watcher (yes, this is a fairly old model and very difficult to find in the US/European market.... the only place I ever saw it was on a Russian website... (and, of course, from the site I bought it)).

Constructive criticism, comments and suggestions are more than welcome in the comments section. Thank's for taking your time to look at this image.

Taken from Rural Skies (Bortle 3-4; NELM ~6.2), from Cristina, MG, Brazil (22ºS latitude). Thanks for looking.
