Description

From March 2007:

I'd been keen to test my newly aluminised mirrors but the recent rain and soggy conditions had been very frustrating. After spending a long time re-assembling and re-collimating the mirrors I finally managed to get out for a while the other night when the eclipse was taking place. The sky was actually quite dark so I searched around for an interesting deep sky target and not far from M109 I managed to find this little gem, ngc 4088.

This image acquired and processed in AstroArt 3 45 x 60 second exposures. Not really enough time and I think there is a little coma still present but the stars are quite small and I'm confident that the telescope is working better than ever before.
