Description

NGC 7331 (also known as Caldwell 30) is a spiral galaxy about 40 million light-years (12 Mpc) away in the constellation Pegasus. It was discovered by William Herschel in 1784.[3] NGC 7331 is the brightest member of the NGC 7331 Group of galaxies. The "fuzzy" patches in the image are other galaxies in the group; you should be able to see 5 or 6 besides NGC 7331 in the center.

Taken at Cascade Mountain Observtory. 65 total frames adding up to over 7 hours of exposure time spread over two nights. Images aligned and stacked in Maxim DL6 with final adjustments in Photoshop CC. (Parts of the description above were shamelessly cribbed from the Wikipedia entry.)
