Description

I think just about everyone who tries to process M33 has a real challenge ahead of them, and this time was no exception. One thing working against me on this image was the moon. It was waxing crescent over the 3 days when I shot this, and when I started my processing, there was a horrible red cast on one half of the image and blue/purple cast on the other half! And of course M33 is so faint that its only natural to stretch it as much as you can so you get those faint spiral arms. Well, doing that I ended up stretching those horrible red/blue casts even further. You can still see some of the remnants around the top half of the galactic arms. But on a more positive note, the noise was not bad on this image and it was pretty easy to remove. HDR was also easy to do, and I was able to pull out a lot of contrast in the core.
