NGC 7331 Collaboration with my Dad

There are many things I thoroughly enjoy about this hobby including the artistic side of things, the technical challenge, the opportunity for creative problem solving, learning more about physics, etc... However, my favorite part has been the opportunity to form a strong bond with my dad over astrophotography. This isn't something I grew up doing with him, but an opportunity that presented itself to reconnect over something we both greatly enjoy doing. He got into the hobby a few years before I did and was a great source of knowledge to get me going and even better company at star parties, nights at our local cow pasture, and many long rambling phone calls about processing, the technical side of things, etc... We've used it as a great excuse to grow closer and it has been the true awesome spot in the hobby for me. He hasn't taken it to the obsessive level I have by any means, but enjoys it at his own pace and I'm glad to be able to return the favor and help him when I can now and then and especially enjoy our couple of week long trips a year to star parties. I just thought I'd take the opportunity with this picture to share and maybe inspire others to take advantage of this great adventure in a similar way.

On to the picture... As many of you know, I'm not really a galaxy guy, but I have collected a good bit of data on this target of the last couple of years and it is one of my dad's favorite and was the first true light for his setup he plans to have the foreseeable future... So, this is about 30 hours of data from a QSI 683 and SV105, STT8300 and TEC 140, and QSI 690 and Tak FSQ 85... As always, any C&C's including opportunities for improvement are greatly appreciated. Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
