Description

One of my surprises during processing was that I could actually see the Pencil Nebula (NGC 2736). See if you can also spot in on the full size image.... If you want a much [by far!] better view on this area, I would suggest Wei-Hao Wang's fantastic mosaic.

By far the most challenging processing I've had - very faint object in a very dense starfield, without perfect tracking - and I'm not perfectly satisfied with it. The integration time is really too short for this extremely faint nebulosity, and it's just barely visible. However, given the conditions and the fact that the DSLR is unmodded (this area is actually red Halpha, as seen in some amazing deep images out there), it turned out OK. I'm looking forward to trying this target again next Fall, but so far, that's my result.

Constructive criticism, comments and suggestions are more than welcome in the comments section. Thank's for taking your time to look at this image.
