Description

Sharpless 2-199 (LDN667), the Soul Nebula, is an emission nebulae in Cassiopeia. The object is more commonly called by the name of the open cluster IC1848 on the right, but there are several other open clusters in it, including IC1871 on the upper left (North up). The nebula is about 6000 light-years from Earth in the Perseus Arm of the Galaxy.
