Description

Comet Catalina (C/2013 US10) on Jan 18, 2016 showing beautiful dust tail and thin ion tail. 53 minutes total exposure, 1-minute sub exposures. The 53 exposures were aligned in two ways: align on the comet head so the combined image had stars trailing, then align on the stars with the comet trailing. For the align on the comet image, the stars were deleted, and for the align on the stars image, the comet was deleted, then the two images combined, all in photoshop.

No flats, no darks, no bias. No guiding. More info at:
