Description

SuperLuminance: This image uses the color layer from the earlier NGC 2403 HaLRGB image, and a new superluminance image as the Lum layer. This method of generating the Lum layer combined the core images from all the L data with the core images from the individual R, G and B data. The net result was a Lum image with a higher SNR and less noise. That allowed for a more detailed Lum image and more detailed final sLHaRGB image.

This image is the core of NGC 2403 that was an APOD February 19, 2016. Here is that link. http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap160219.html and the link to the Astrobin image http://www.astrobin.com/239295/B/.
