Description

Here's the link to my first real attempt at lunar astrophotography. It's a mosaic of 22 images and a total of just over 1,000 frames. Stacked in Registax and edited in Adobe Photoshop CS5. Provides a nice view of Copernicus and Rupes Recta, along with some other lunar features. I used an SBIG ST-i on my GSO 8" RC Carbon Tube on an Orion Sirius mount. Here's the Clear Dark Sky info from the night: Cloud Cover: Clear, Transparency: 3/5, Seeing: 2/5 (although this number doesn't seem very accurate - I would rate it about a 3 or 3.5/5), Darkness: 4, Wind: 11 MPH (again, this number seems high - I would say it was about 3-4 MPH), Humidity: 55-60%, Temperature: 41-50 degrees. Thanks for checking it out!
