Description

The periodic comet Wild-2, discovered on 1978 by switzerland astronomer Paul Wild. It was overflown by NASA space prove Stardust on year 2004, this furthermore to take photografies your nucleus, returned to Earth two years later wiht samples of its coma. Their analisis has discovered presence of aminoacids, wich support the "panspermia" hypothesis: life ingredients are made in space, there are plenty and come to planets aboard metorites and comets.

I took this image on the maximum approaching of comet to Earth after its 2010's perihelium. Placed in Virgo, with a magnitude near 9, and a coma diameter of 6 minutes, it can see moreover a wide and fuzzy dust tail of 20 minutes of longitude. At upper left, the NGC 5493 galaxy shine at 11.4 magnitude.
