Thermoelectric cooling box

Description

This is a homemade thermoelectric peltier cooling box that I made for my modified Olympus EPM2 in order to reduce thermal noise during long exposure. This cooling box allows the sensor to drop temperature by about 14C (25F) from ambient temperature.

It is composed of an aluminum sheet wrapped in insulating material. It has a big heat sink on the outside with a fan to get rid of the warm air and another heat sink and fan inside to move cold air inside the box itself.

This project cost me about $75 USD and it works great. However, in order to get the best temperature drop, I remove the camera screen after focusing and framing in order to expose the sensor better to the cold air.
