Description

The huge elliptical galaxy M87, showing its jet, and surrounded by its numerous globular clusters. They are small so you may have to enlarge the image to better see them. M87 is unusual in that it has thousands of globular clusters, far more than our galaxy. Processing in Maxim, with a log stretch to partially accommodate the dynamic range necessary. Seeing was ordinary, with stellar FWHM averaged over the integration period of ~2.3 arc sec. Cropped a little to better show the clusters.
