Description

https://www.spacetelescope.org/images/opo9501c/

Here's my latest work: the Cat's eye nebula NGC 6543 pictured masterfully in this image of the Space Telescope

https://www.spacetelescope.org/images/opo9501c/

The composition, in my case, it is bicolor H alpha - OIII with a technique developed by me.

Unlike the other two-color compositions, where to the OIII emission is assigned a false bluish color, here I use the true greenish hue, that characterizes this type of emission, so the color is rather unusual to most people.

Processing was extremely complex because the brightness of the center of the nebula is more than three hundred times the brightest part of the external envelope, just visible around the main nebula.

For this reason, the appearance of the stars is a bit "bloated".

The stars have also been processed to make them white, because the narrow band data have no physical meaning for objects with continuous emission.

To reveal the most of this region many more hours of integration would be needed ....

Let's hope in the next New Moon.
