Description

This was a "proof of concept" attempt to see if I could do some planetary imaging with my current DSO setup. Clear nights are such a rarity lately, and really hate having to waste a clear night just because of an obnoxious moon (my cam is an OSC, so Ha isn't really an option).

I thought maybe some planetary might be fun. I wanted to shoot this with a barlow, but I couldn't come to focus with the barlow in, so this is shot at the native focal length of the AT8RC. I've since got some extensions, so I'm hoping to get some larger image scales in the future.

The Orion G3 is definitely not suited for planetary, but with the exposure set to 0.01 sec, I was able to get about 500 frames over 10 min.
