Description

This experiment was inspired by Uwe Deutermann's image and experiment here.  I  too am in light polluted skies, bortle 7.  The target never rose above 28 degrees.  Had to start capture right at dark twilight. What is astounding is that this target faces the San Fernando Valley (yes valley girls) and LA's light dome.  See revision B which is a 2 sec  exposure.  I did a quick workflow, noting too fancy, and am definitely surprised.  Interestingly I captured more color, don't know where the burgundy came from, and I did have some gradients to remove.  I did some testing and I believe I pulled more color than Uwe's because I use APP for stacking and then applied it's light pollution removal tool to each RGB master.

Also, I did not use a reducer on the 102GT.  The field of view of Uwe's ASI6200 is impressive compared to my ASI2600.

Overall a fun experiment for sure.  I'm blown away I could capture this much all conditions considered.  Maybe someday I can revisit from a dark site.
