Description

M94 is a spiral galaxy in the constellation Canes Venatici. It is the brightest member of the M94 galaxy group which has about two dozen members and is located about 16 million light years distant. M94 has a faint outer ring, just visible in this image. The ring has a spiral structure in the UV and IR and is active in star formation.
