Description

First attempt at solar imaging. The only thing on hand was a Thousand Oaks filter to fit my 10" f/4.7 Newtonian, but I thought "nobody uses 10" telescopes for solar imaging: you're supposed to use a cute refractor." This is a single shot through the main filter, and also a CCD-CLS Astronomic clip-in. Using Nebulosity to recolor a bit to bring out the gradient from middle to edge, I was quite pleased to see the sunspot detail and also some granulation on the sun. I also shot a 107 time lapse of the transit covering one hour that came out well that I will post soon. The clouds parted just for this period. Beginners luck!
