Description

This was part of the planetary first light for the ASI1600MM-Cool. The micro four-thirds sensor really covers some real estate at high magnification. This was through the 8" SCT and 2.5x powermate. I was able to cover this just 3 panels with significant overlap. I eyeball estimate I could cover the full moon in about 15 panels with some planning.

Each panel is the best 500 of 1000 frames. Capture was 40ms exposure at unity gain coming off the sensor at the maximum attainable 23fps. The captures do take a while because of that framerate, but it's all USB3.0 can handle. It is 4k video after all.

The final output here is downscaled 33% from the original capture scale. If I haven't mentioned it already, the biggest "issue" with this camera is dealing with the insane amount of data it generates in a short period of time. The 3 videos here were 46GB of .ser format files.
