GC4298 and NGC4302 are a pair of spiral galaxies located toward the Constellation Coma Berenices at around 55-60 Million Light-Years distant. NGC4298 is the face-on tightly wound and knotty spiral galaxy and is about 50,000-60,000 Light-Years in size. NGC4302 is the edge-on galaxy presenting a heavy dust lane and is about 97,000 Light years in size. The two galaxies are around 600,000 Light-Years distant from each other, but there seems to be little evidence of tidal interaction thus far. The small blue sprial galaxy to the left of NGC4302 is PGC169114, about 1.2 Billion Light-Years distant. The larger galaxy in the left side of the image is PGC40066 is about 47 Million Light-Years distant, and its smaller companion is PGC165108 at about 192 Million Light-Years. Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
