Description

Finally Galaxy season is over Was fun processing a big nebula after so long.

This was a very hard target, low in the sky and just a slight window. But I went for it! I went to a darker sky location that was pretty good, because I knew this target was so low.

When I got all setup, clouds came from no where and had to wait it out but then it finally cleared, and was only able to get about 1 hour on this target..

SGP was taking forever to settle I think my mount was balanced incorrectly I normally image east, but this time it was west so my counterbalance was totally off. Time to add some tape markers for both sides of the meridian!

From the original subs I could see no detail, this is a faint target, the IDAS-P2 filter (This was my first major test with it) makes everything blueish as well, but I was happy that it was actually visible after processing so the night was not a bust and I was pleased to have at least got an image I can post.

I wanted to make this a mosaic with the other small nebula to the right, I'm not sure if I will be able to get it again this year, but it was a fun try.

Thanks for viewing!
