Description

This is a (4) pane mosaic of the area around Deneb, alpha Cygnus. Panels were taken over multiple nights in july 2016. The mosaic covers roughly 6X10 degrees. The image includes SNR G82.2+5.3, Pelican Nebula, Sadr nebula area, NGC6888 and the Soap Bubble to name a few.

But the subject of this image is the dark nebula just to the right and slightly below center. The dark nebula seems to be between us and the emission nebula that stretches from the Pelican to Sadr and blots out some of its light.

Also interesting is the change in star density across the image. Seems to be a hole in the nebula just to the left "North" of Deneb and the Pelican nebula that lets the light from distant stars through...
