Description

I spent a Saturday afternoon balancing my William Optics FLT98 APO with various visual and imaging gear. By sunset it was looking cloudy to the south and the ClearSky chart forecast was not great and the IR satellite showed clouds building in to VT. Once it got dark enough for the stars I completed a 2+4 alignment of the CGEM. I really wanted to image M20 but the southern view was a bust and Antares was barely visible thru the clouds. It was fairly clear overhead and after a short visible tour including M51, M101 and M57 I visited M31 at my last stop. It looked good enough that I decided install the imaging gear. I had not done any DSO imaging in several months so even if the conditions were not the best it would be good practice. After processing this image I can honestly say that I am really happy with how this turned out. I can't wait for a shot at M20.
