Description

The Propeller Nebula (Simeis 57), also catalogued as DWB 111, 118 and 119, is part of the large emission nebula complex Cygnus X in the constellation Cygnus.

Taken with my sweet little Skywatcher 130/650 PDS Newton; Ha enhanced RGB image using mainly Pixinsight. Some older Ha data are reused and added from the 72/432 ED.

LUMINANCE

Integrate all channels (R, G, B, Ha_130PDS, Ha_Lacerta71) noise eval.

Denoise: MultiscaleLinearTransform using Lightness Mask

Denoise: MultiscaleMedianTransform using Lightness mask (0.3 amount)

Deconvolute using created Gausian PSF

DBE with points on dark background - reduced by 50% (averaged with original)

MaskedStretch script

Morphological Transform using StarMask (slightly to reduce star size)

Stretch with ExponentialTransformation (tick Lightness mask)

Stretch with LocalHistogramTransformation

Stretch with HistogramTransformation

DarkStructureEnhance script - reduced by 50% (averaged with original)

Denoise: ANCDR using lightness Mask, mild (amount 0.2)

Reenhanced bright stars and spikes with PixelMath Blend (max) with Lum made w/o Lacerta71 Ha data

RGB PROCESSING

DBE of RGB channels

LinearFit

RGB ChannelCombine

MaskedStretch

HistrogramStretch

HaRVB-AIP script (Merge Ha with RGB)

Strong Denoise HaRGB with MultiscaleMedianTransform (smooth color info)

MorphologicalTransformation (Remove single dark pixels; Morphological Median, 3x3)

LRVB-AIP script (Merge Luminance with HaRGB; Lightness 0.590 / Saturation 0.4)

HistogramTransformation

Photoshop: Merge two different versions (one with tighter and bigger stars); Astronomy Tools
