Description

The Pacman Nebula is an area of ionized gas in the constellation Cassiopeia. Catalogued as NGC 281, it sits approximately 9,500 light year from Earth. While very difficult to glimpse visually telescope, this nebula is rather beautiful and interesting when photographed.

The red area of the nebula shows Hydrogen gas; blue shows Oxygen.
